ARod Comes through Again

So A-Rod seems to be 2-3 in clutch situations this year after yesterday's 9th inning 3 run home-run, which gave the Yankees an 8-6 victory of the Cleveland Indians.

Clutch situation = Late innings (6-9), Runners in Scoring Position or opportunity to tie or win the game.

Lets hope he does not go ice cold over the weekend against the Red Sox, and it looks like he is 3-4 with 2 HR and 4 RBI so far tonight. Though it looks like they blew it in the 8th inning.

ARod did come up in the 9th and made the final out, but he did hit two homers early, so does that make him 2-4 in clutch, or keep him at 2-3? Afterall, he cannot be expected to hit 3 homeruns in order to keep the Bombers in a game, can he?

Ahem..... What about last night?

Yes, ARod hit that neat three run homer into the bullpen, but he was a little mad at himself, it appeared, when his ninth inning drive was put away by the Red Sox second baseman. Or, was he mad at the second baseman? Who knows? Well, he can't win 'em all! :-)

Cheers, from a Red Sox fan,
Mardé

He didn't do bad. None of the bats did.

The pitching froze solid however.

Yes, the Yankee bats were fine this weekend and the relief pitching blew. Hopefully this is just early season bs, and they will solidify as the summer progresses.

Good to see Arod not freeze in Boston. It is looking like he is going to have a great year.

Of course I'm an Angel fan and we will gladly take A-rod off your hands if you would like.

Looks like the Yanks are digging deep for pitching, bringing up 20 year old Philip Hughes (Foothill HS CA)

BTW, I do think he is ready and should be in the bigs for many years to come.

Randy,

Yeah there is a very good chance you will be seeing a bunch of A-Rod next season. Then again the folks in Cubland might feel differently.

Hopefully Hughes does well and sticks because it will be g ood for the Yankees and good for me, since I have him on my fantasy team.

Thanks for the comment.
