Well, I am about to do something that I have not done all year, make some predictions on this weekend's NFL wildcard matchups. There are two reason's why I have not done this previously this season.
1) I have been very busy and have not really had the time to analyze 16 games every weekend, and it showed up during my fantasy football season, where I finished 7th, in spite of having the #1 draft pick. Curses on that Shaun Alexander for getting injured, and curses on my stupidity for not taking LT, since when I was in poll position 3 years ago, he guided me to the championship, and I should have used that same philosphy. Though in my defense I thought defenses would be keying on LT more, with Philip Rivers starting, oh well.
2) I am really bad at making predictions.
So before I start on this weekend's game, let me just say that I think the New Orleans Saints are going to meet the San Diego Chargers in the Super Bowl on Feb 4. They are currently the best teams in each of the respective division, but as history has shown, being the best often does not result in a Super Bowl bid. But as Dora says anywho, lets get on wtih the show:
Chiefs vs Colts. The over/under on this should easily be 60 points. Expect a high scoring game with the Colts dead last in the league in run Defense and LJ running all day. I have seen enough of Herm Edwards while he was in New York to know that he will find a way for the Chiefs to botch this game. Peyton should have an easy time racking up the yards and points against the Chiefs. Although I expect the Colts to buck in the playoffs it won't be this week. Take the Colts
Cowboys vs. Seahawks - Everyone here in NY is saying the Cowboys have a better chance at beating the Seahawks then the Jets have of beating the Patriots. While I agree on paper, I do think last years NFC Champions will finally show some backbone and win this one. Both teams come into this game in complete disarray based on their past few games, the Cowboys losing to the pathetic Lions, and the Seahawks basically being clipped by every other team in their weak-ass division. I do think home field is the only major advantage in this game, so Take the Hawks and wait for Romo to burn next year.
Jets vs. Patriots - Kudos to the Jets. No one expected them to be here. They played well all season and made the most of a a weak schedule. Mangini deserves to be Coach of the Year for getting these guys to believe in themselves. However, the Patriots with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick have never lost a home playoff game, and I don't expect it start now. All the Jets fans have been ranting all week on WFAN about how they dont get any respect, and how the Patriots are overratted. Well those statements might both be true, but until the Patriots lose at home in January, they deserve to be favored. I think this game will be closer than the 8-9 point spread, but the Patriots will move on, and the Jets can go home proud and work on improving for next year.
Giants vs. Eagles. - Two major factors at work here. 1) The Giants suck and are incredibly lucky they made the playoffs and 2) Jeff Garcia was on the cover of SI, and inevitable will be jinxed. So look for AJ Feely or Koy Detmer to come in and lead the Eagles to victorty this weekend.
I know this is not very daring, picking the favorites (I don't know, maybe the Cowboys are favored), and the home teams to win, but with the exception of the Dallas Seattle game, I don't see how the underdog can ultimately prevail in these battles. As I stated earlier, I suck at this, so I will probably be wrong on one or more accounts, but there are my picks for the weekend.

You aren't horrible at picks or predictions...Pat Robertson already took the horrible predictions spot.
I don't know anything about football. :)
I am shocked, I went 4-4, that has never happend to me.
I guess I have plenty or time to screw up next weeks picks :)
Jeff
Damn - good picks especially considering last year I think 3 out of 4 road underdogs won in the Wild Card Weekend.
Nice job!
Niiice picks! The Romo comment cemented it for you.
Now if you would be so kind as to drum up 6 numbers between 1 and 56...
