Andrew Sullivan's Quote of the Day

From Andrew Sullivan's blog

"Some Americans ask me, if completing the mission is so important, why don't you send more troops? If our commanders on the ground say we need more troops, I will send them. But our commanders tell me they have the number of troops they need to do their job. Sending more Americans would undermine our strategy of encouraging Iraqis to take the lead in this fight. And sending more Americans would suggest that we intend to stay forever, when we are, in fact, working for the day when Iraq can defend itself and we can leave. As we determine the right force level, our troops can know that I will continue to be guided by the advice that matters: the sober judgment of our military leaders,"

- president George W. Bush, June 28, 2005, when more troops might actually have helped.

We may have a president with an excruciating ability to do exactly the wrong thing at the wrong time - every time. - Andrew Sullivan

It's pretty scary we've got him for another year isn't it? It amazes me that his father only served the one term but this idiot gets two shots at it. But then after the Clinton 3 ring circus/porn show I think people were afraid to vote in a democrat again. And we thought the 60's were Peace, Love and war. These last few presidencies have been Sex and war. I bet the rest of this world thinks we're all a bunch of nuts. Sorry this comment turned into rambling. I'm not know to be very eloquent...

Squirrel,

No worries. your point is taken and completely understood. It is apparently none of our (the American People) business how this president is conducting the war, what tactics they are using to track down terrorirst and violate our civil rights in the process, but if a president has a sexual or marital indiscretion, that should have been between him and his wife, then that is front page news.

Talk about a rambling long-winded statement

Thanks for the thought

Jeff
