Which is more surprising?

That the producers of a survivor style show for kids has admitted that certain scenes are stage or reshot or that kids participating in the show were not working since they received a stipend not a wage?

From the LA Times:
"It's not unusual for shows to make sure they have all the footage they might ever need to cut and paste the story line they want to create because they're creating entertainment. But that is significant in this situation because CBS and the producers are trying to claim that this was not work and was not scripted and the children were not actors."

Apparently some new show called Kids Nation, or as it has been dubbed "Lord of the Fly - 20007", is slated for the fall schedule. My ultimate question is why do we need to watch kids playing this type of reality program. Is it really a good idea to be putting children into this kind of situation? I have this sneaky suspicion that the overwhelming majority of these kids are either wanna be actors or being pushed into this by their stage-mom's (or dad) to get their kids recognized so they can cash in. It is quite sad when all these kids received was a $5000 stipend.

Lets try to get ahead of the curve and start boycotting this crap now.

Barry Bonds is caught..

With Amphetimines, not steroids, according to today's NY Daily News:

Barry Bonds, already under investigation for lying under oath about his steroid use, failed a test under Major League Baseball's amphetamine policy last season and then initially blamed it on a teammate, the Daily News has learned.

Under the policy, which went into effect only last season, players are not publicly identified for a first positive test...

Bonds, who has long defended himself against steroid accusations by saying he "never failed a drug test," did not appeal his positive test, but was immediately subject to an additional six drug tests by MLB over the next six months.

Well it appears he has now failed a drug test. I understand failing the first amphetimine test comes with no suspension, but that fact that he Palmeiro'd this accusation, by trying to blame a teammate for his indescretion is just disgusting. And whether Mark Sweeney gave him the upper or not is irrelevant. You get caught, take responsibility. See Weather Bulletin if you want to know my take on this subject.

This man is a cancer to the sport. It will be the ultimate travesty when he passes Henry Aaron this summer to become the all-time HR king. I recommend we boycott the SF Giants this year. I would like to kindly request that when the SF Giants come to your town to play your local team, that you stay home. I would also like to request the Giants fans stay home, not come to the park and keep their dollars in their pockets. Please for the integrity of the game.
