NBC switches Scrubs

So once again it looks like NBC is going to start screwing with my mind, by moving Scrubs to 9:30, and putting the critically acclaimed and ratings challenged 30 Rock on at 9:00. What I cannot figure out is why Television Networks cannot just leave shows that have solid fan base, with a decent time slot alone. These shows are getting a decent audience, building a fan base, then the networks start moving them all over their program schedule so it becomes next to impossible to find them on your dial (I know it is an antiquated term, but it still applies)

I am guessing that 30 Rock is produced in house at NBC/Universal that the network continues to make this stinker stick to their schedule, since their are obtained at a lower cost and keeping it on the air costs them less money. This is in spite of the fact that this program has been on a death spiral since it premiered in the fall and no one seems to care about this show except for the network itself. TV Squad, brilliant but cancelled and Vegas have all been speculating on when this turd will be flushed, so what does NBC do? They put Scrubs into the toilet spin with 30 Rock, since it looks like Scrubs might move to ABC next season anyway.

It is sad, and the networks wonder why no one is watching their programs anymore. Why audiences are fleeing to cable, or DVD or anything else but what drivel they are serving us. They just don't get it.

I hate when they change schedules around. It killed Northern Exposure and it killed Ed. Hopefully it won't kill Scrubs.

I freaking love 30 Rock! Sure there have been a few stinker episodes, but it is really funny. Baldwin and Morgan are cracking me up.

Whit-

It has happened to way too many shows in the past. Too many to even list. Anyone have other examples?

I am glad you like 30 Rock, maybe the move will bode well for the series on the cusp.

Homicide, Life on The Streets - one freakin' awesome show.
I was also really into "Surface" last season, but I guess I was the only one! It wasn't critically acclaimed or anything, but the geek in me liked it. Que sera, sera...

Homicide was and still is one of the best shows on TV, though you need Sleuth or WGN to see it today, but I dont remember it moving around a lot.

I remember it pretty much being a fixture on Friday night. The other thing that NBC used to do was sporadically pull it, put other shows on in that time slot, and show the episodes out of order.

Yeah, I guess I would count H:LOTS as one of those programs that NBC did mess around with. Good call

I don't mind Jeff! I just watch Scrubs on Comedy Central every night. I had never seen the show until this fall and I still haven't seen an original episode.
